Give an example of free software for editing photos
There are really a lot of free options for photo handling. Here is a selection: Pixia, Gimp, Photoscape, Paint.net, Fotographix, Pixlr, etc.
Here you can find a useful list.
The foreground of your picture is sharp. The background of your picture is out of focus.
Does that mean that you have a lot or little depth of field?
Little depth of field
Depth of field is the area in a photo that appears sharp. In principal, you focus your lens on a certain distance. Everything at that distance will be sharp. Behind and in front of that distance there is a zone that is fairly sharp. With a large depth of field, you have a larger zone in focus (panorama photos). With a small depth of field, you have a smaller zone in focus (close up photos).
What does the abbreviation ISO stand for?
ISO is the international Standardisation Organisation (or International Organisation for Standardisation) that states the light sensitivity of a camera's image sensor. This standard is the follow-up to the old ASA-standard.
The higher the ISO-value, the less (length of time) light needs to enter the camera for a well-lit photo. But be warned: the higher the ISO-value, the more noise (grain) you get in a photo. So the best is to make a good trade off.
